Gossels Program: Karim Nagi

Categories:

On Sunday, March 12 at 3pm, please join us for a program by Karim Nagi.

What do you know about Arab Muslim culture? Is your only source the media? Please join Egyptian-American Karim Nagi who will introduce us to his culture in a high-energy performance featuring exciting traditional dances and soulful folk music played on a variety of traditional instruments. Using authentic costumes, Arabic language, audience participation and humor, Karim will enlighten us about a captivating world beyond the headlines.  A former faculty member of the New England Conservatory of Music, Karim now performs nationwide to great acclaim with the SHARQ Arabic Music Ensemble. He is a master percussionist and dancer who likes to have fun with his audience. Many of Wayland’s school-age children have experienced Karim’s enthusiasm and high energy performances over the last few months through school-sponsored assemblies. The experience will captivate audiences of all ages. It is sponsored by The Gossels Fund for Human Dignity. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Wayland Free Public Library.
