Movie Review Sites

Common Sense Media
Common Sense Media rates media based on developmental criteria recommendations from some of the nation's leading authorities. Their ON, OFF, and PAUSE buttons act as quick guides to help you figure out what media is right for your kids. They know that kids and families are different. Their goal is to give you enough reliable information to determine works for you. In all cases, there's no substitute for knowing our kids -- each one is different and all families have their own preferences.  From the Common Sense Media FAQ.

Screenit.com
These unbiased reviews are designed to allow parents to decide whether a movie or video is appropriate for them and their kids based on their own values.   It seemed to be the most thorough of the sites I looked at, with each potentially objectionable phrase or action described in detail. Kids In Mind
Objective, non-critical assessments of potentially problematic material contained in movies.  Includes very detailed descriptions of each incident.  Also has a very interesting section about those annoying pop-ups and why they occur.   Used with permission from creator Lois McAuliffe, Director of Children’s Services, Ashland Public Library, 11/03.
