The 2013 Summer Reading Program
"Dig Into Reading"

This year's Summer Reading Program

Fizz, Boom, READ!

starts on June 20

This is how the Summer Reading program works:

  • Register for Fizz, Boom, READ! in the children's room or by logging onto our online Summer Reading Log.
  • Check out the Grade-Level Book Lists compiled by Wayland Library Staff.
  • Keep track of your summer reading online or on paper logs (available in the Children's Room).
  • Write reviews to post on the online reading log and read reviews by other children just like you.
  • Come into the library for great programs, including a magic show, a visit from Mike the Bubble Man, a demonstration by Jungle Jim on how simple machines work (he builds a "Mouse Trap" with balloons!), a visit from local weatherman Todd Gutner, several drop-in crafts, and even a kitchen chemistry program. Click here to see a schedule of summer programs.
  • All participants in "Fizz, Boom, READ!" are invited to an ice cream party on Thursday, August 14.
  • Family Fun Reading List from Loker ELA Department
  • Wayland Elementary Schools Summer Reading List

Fizz, Boom, READ! is sponsored by the Friends of the Wayland Library, the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
