Wayland Author Fair
Saturday, April 2
All are welcome to this event that will showcase 20 of Wayland’s own writers on both floors of the library. Interact with authors on the main floor where some will have books for purchase, or hear them discuss their work in the Raytheon Room. Our goal is connect local readers with local authors. Writing Workshop: Taking the Mystery Out of Writing a Mystery Book for Kids
Author Jacqueline Dembar Greene regrets she is unable to attend the Wayland Author Fair, but will show her support with this hour-long writing presentation on Friday, April 8 at 9:30 a.m.. She will give pointers and suggest approaches that will help solve the mystery of how to approach or polish a book. In addition to step-by-step guidelines from plotting and characterization to creating villains and foils, she will answer questions and help aspiring authors on the path to preparing a book for publication.
Kids Yoga Program
Author Giselle Shardlow will read her picture book, Rachel’s Day in the Garden and teach yoga poses presented in the book. The event will take place on Saturday, April 16 at 10:30 a.m. and will also include children making a simple spring craft.
