The Wayland Free Public Library is a department in the Town of Wayland governed by an elected Board of Library Trustees. This board is made up of six members who are elected for staggered three-year terms of office. The Trustees govern under Chapter 78, Section 10 and 11 of the Massachusetts General Laws and have “custody and management” of the library and shall administer all “money or property” appropriated by the town, gifts, and bequests. The Library Director holds the responsibility for the management of library services and staff and reports directly to the Trustees.

The Board of Trustees meetings take place monthly in the library; everyone is invited to these public meetings. Please consult the Event Calendar for specific times.

Terms and Length of Service

All terms are for 3 years.
