Teen volunteers are always welcome at the Wayland Free Public Library to help in various capacities. Volunteering is available for 6th – 12th graders. Middle school volunteers under 13 require parental permission.
Current volunteer opportunities include:
- Library page (includes shelving, shelf reading, and other tasks related to library materials)
- Graphic design (create flyers, social media graphics, etc.)
- Running your own program (a librarian will assist with advertising, room reservation, and more)
- Running club events (needs community element to qualify for service hours)
- Assisting a librarian with programming
- Creating and preparing crafts for the Children’s Room
- Book Buddies (read to younger children at the library)
- Teen Advisory Board
Students are also encouraged to propose their own ideas!
