Monday, November 13 at 7 p.m. – November is Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month. Join us as Wayland resident, Deborah Lynn Straffus talks about her experience with Alzheimer’s as shared in her memoir, On Angel’s Wings: A Journey Through Alzheimer’s with My Mother.
As a member of the Metro West Alzheimer’s Partnership for the last 5 years, Deborah brings educational opportunities about Alzheimer’s to the Metro West area. She is an advocate and member of the Alzheimer’s Impact Movement, the political arm of the Alzheimer’s Association that seeks to bring about legislation and funding for Alzheimer’s research and programs at both the state and national level. She has spoken with congress members, senate and house aides and traveled to Washington to help push legislation and funding for a cure for Alzheimer’s. Deborah is a certified holistic practitioner who works with the Alzheimer’s community to bring relief to caregivers and those suffering with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
