Wednesday, September 12, 7:30pm – Hurray! 5 miles of the rail trail is constructed! Where can I go, and what’s next? Come to the library to get all your questions answered!Larry Kiernan will give an update on the Wayside Trail between Wayland and Weston, discuss plans to extend the trail east and west over the next few years, and explain the state’s master plan for building 104 miles of trail from Boston to Northampton.
He will share tips about little-known destinations and recreational facilities connected to the trail that your family will love – yes, even your teenagers! In addition, he’ll demonstrate a free app for your desktop or phone that shows a map of all the hiking and biking paths in MetroWest. This map should make you more comfortable venturing into the many open spaces accessible from the rail trail.
Wayland resident Larry Kiernan is Wayland’s Representative to the (104 miles) Mass Central Rail Trail Committee (MCRT), the founder of the Friends of the Wayland Rail Trail, a husband, dad, mountain biker, occasional hiker and basketball player (when not hurt).
