About Kim Smith
A professional with two decades experience in the culinary arts and food service industry, Kim Smith is known in the assisted living business for her creativity and signature brain healthy recipes. She received her degree from Johnson and Wales University, and learned her trade as a sous chef at the El Morocco Restaurant in Worcester MA. She has an extensive background serving as Executive Chef in senior living communities throughout New England.
Ms. Smith manages the dining programs for Senior Living Residences (SLR) communities overseeing budgeting, purchasing, on-site labor, menu planning, customer service, hospitality training, and food service quality assurance. She is in charge of the company’s innovative award-winning Brain Healthy Cooking Program, based on a growing body of scientific research on the important role played by diet in the cause, prevention and management of Alzheimer’s disease. Ms. Smith continually innovates developing new recipes and training SLR associates in best practices related to brain healthy cooking.
Ms. Smith has received numerous awards for her work, most recently being named Premier’s 2018 Illuminating Excellence Award recipient, recognizing her as the #1 Food Service Director in the U.S!
