“Song Creating: Painting with Words and Music”
Every picture tells a story, and every song paints a picture. Using his own compositions, Steve will describe the process of creating new songs using 12 notes, 26 letters, and some imagination. He’ll discuss overcoming blocks, revising, and revising more, and various song structures, and give some insight into what could be behind some of the songs we are all know and love.
Steve Robb has been a part of the music scene in MetroWest since 2021. He was a founding member of the bands Mid-Life Crisis, Working Still, and Cabin Fever, started the (in)famous Open Mic at the Dudley Chateau, and hosted additional open mics at Sandy Burr and the Music Exchange Listening Room at The W Gallery, among others, and instigated the Wayland City Limits benefit concerts. In 2021 he released his self- produced original full- length album ‘Cabin Fever’.
Gifted with a knack for turning a phrase, and the curse of an inability to focus on one style or genre, Steve’s songs span from Country to Blues, Reggae to Americana. He also is host of the podcast series Song Creating, available on most streaming platforms.
