The Board of Library Trustees are presenting Article 11 at Annual Town Meeting on April 7th. Please click here for more information

Welcome!

This monthly book group centers around food and socializing, open to anyone who brings a selection from that month’s title. No registration necessary.

How It Works

  • Find the event on our calendar or website
  • Pick up a copy of the featured cookbook.  Copies will be at the main desk in the library; no special request necessary.
  • Select a recipe.  Then email it to CC. This helps build the “What’s Cookin’?” list and makes for a greater variety of dishes at the meeting.
  • Make said recipe the day of the meeting.  If a recipe calls for rare mushrooms that you find only on amazon, for example, try something with more accessible ingredients. Finished is better than perfect.
  • It all boils down to light-hearted fun.  Not everyone knows each other, so conversations are often about much more than the cookbook.  Significant others welcome.
  • Get on the Cookbook Club mailing list, if you wish.  Contact dwinn@minlib.net

Meeting

  • 3rd Thursday of the month, 5:30 – 7:00
  • Location is the Raytheon Room, Wayland Library, 5 Concord Road
  • Prepare a dish that can serve 4-6
  • Wrap and transport it with care
  • Bring serving utensils

Food Safety

  • The library assumes participants have a reasonable level of skill regarding knife handling, handwashing, and general kitchen food safety.  The library assumes no responsibility for mishaps in the preparation of food.
  • Potlucks such as this follow Board of Health guidelines for food safety (clean handling, transport while hot, discard anything dubious).
  • Ingredient forms are voluntarily completed by participants and displayed next to each dish at all meetings to prevent accidental allergic reactions.
