3D Printing Policy



  • The Wayland Free Public Library’s 3D printers and related equipment may be used for lawful purposes in compliance with library policies. Patrons may not upload, transmit, display, or create content that violates any federal, state or local laws, privacy or intellectual property rights, including violations of patent, trademark or copyright laws.

  • No hazardous, regulated or illegal items such as weapons that may be potentially harmful or lethal to oneself or others will be permitted.  

  • No obscene, disruptive or otherwise inappropriate items for a Library environment that serves people of all ages, including minors will be permitted.  

  • The Wayland Free Public Library reserves the right to refuse to print any object.

  • Submissions with a cumulative print time exceeding 30 hours will incur a requested donation of 50 cents per hour. Submissions made within the same 30-day time period will contribute to the 30-hour limit. The limit will reset 30 days after the latest submission. Patrons will be notified of the requested donation and the total amount before printing begins.
