Photography and Filming Policy
The Wayland Free Public Library reserves the right to use photographs or video taken at the Library for publicity purposes both online and in print. Patrons may also take photographs or videos while attending Library programs that are posted online. Before any photos or videos are taken by Library staff or outside photographers or videographers hired by the Library, parents or guardians will be asked to sign a Photo Release form allowing the Library to use those images for publicity purposes. If a parent or guardian does not wish images of their child or children to be taken and posted online or in print, every effort will be made to avoid photographing those who do not wish to be photographed. Photograph(s), video(s) and/or sound recording(s) obtained by the Library will not include any identifying information of the person or persons included without the express written consent of the individual(s) involved.
Some Library events are recorded and aired live or at a later date on WayCam TV or on other social media platforms. When a program is going to be videotaped, Library staff will announce this at the beginning of the program. Library staff will make every effort to assist patrons not wishing to come within the camera’s view to find seating outside of the camera’s range. While the Library maintains control of the WayCam TV feed, it is unable to edit videos once they have been recorded.
The Library also reserves the right to request that any photograph or video taken in the Library that includes children without the express written consent of the parent or guardian be removed from any online sites accessible to the public.
Anyone wishing to photograph or take video of the public spaces within the Library or on the grounds of the Library should adhere to the following guidelines:
