Ruben J. Azocar, MD, MHCM, FASA, FCCM is Professor and Chair of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Azocar obtained his medical degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, completed his Anesthesiology residency at Boston University Medical Center and Critical Care Fellowships at Cook County Hospital and the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School. Dr. Azocar is the President of the Society for the Advancement of Geriatric Anesthesiology (SAGA) and has clinical and research interest in the care of the older adult presenting for surgery and anesthesia and/or suffering from critical illness.
